قُلْ أَنَدْعُوا۟ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مَا لَا يَنفَعُنَا وَلَا يَضُرُّنَا وَنُرَدُّ عَلَىٰٓ أَعْقَابِنَا بَعْدَ إِذْ هَدَىٰنَا ٱللَّهُ كَٱلَّذِى ٱسْتَهْوَتْهُ ٱلشَّيَٰطِينُ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ حَيْرَانَ لَهُۥٓ أَصْحَٰبٌ يَدْعُونَهُۥٓ إِلَى ٱلْهُدَى ٱئْتِنَا قُلْ إِنَّ هُدَى ٱللَّهِ هُوَ ٱلْهُدَىٰ وَأُمِرْنَا لِنُسْلِمَ لِرَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ ٧١
Qul anad`oo min doonillaahi maa laa yanfa`unaa walaa yadurrunaa wanuraddu `alaa a`qaabinaa ba`da idh hadaanallaahu kal-ladhistahwathush-shayaateenu fil-ardi hayraana lahoo ashaabuy yad`oonahoo ilal-huda'tinaa, qul inna hudallaahi huwal-hudaa, wa'umirnaa linuslima lirabbil-`aalameen
Say, "Shall we invoke instead of Allāh that which neither benefits us nor harms us and be turned back on our heels after Allāh has guided us? [We would then be] like one whom the devils enticed [to wander] upon the earth confused, [while] he has companions inviting him to guidance, [calling], 'Come to us.'" Say, "Indeed, the guidance of Allāh is the [only] guidance; and we have been commanded to submit to the Lord of the worlds.
- i.e., worship.
- The example given is of one who has lost his way and is further confused by the evil ones who tempt him to follow various directions, all leading to destruction. Although his sincere friends call him back to the right path, he ignores them.

Say (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم): "Shall we invoke others besides Allâh (false deities), that can do us neither good nor harm, and shall we turn back on our heels after Allâh has guided us (to true Monotheism)? - like one whom the Shayâtîn (devils) have made to go astray in the land in confusion, his companions calling him to guidance (saying): ‘Come to us.’ " Say: "Verily, Allâh’s Guidance is the only guidance, and we have been commanded to submit (ourselves) to the Lord of the ‘Âlamîn (mankind, jinn and all that exists);

Say: Shall we cry, instead of unto Allah, unto that which neither profiteth us nor hurteth us, and shall we turn back after Allah hath guided us, like one bewildered whom the devils have infatuated in the earth, who hath companions who invite him to the guidance (saying): Come unto us? Say: Lo! the guidance of Allah is Guidance, and we are ordered to surrender to the Lord of the Worlds

آپ کہہ دیجئے کہ کیا ہم اللہ تعالیٰ کے سوا ایسی چیز کو پکاریں کہ نہ وه ہم کو نفع پہنچائے اور نہ ہم کو نقصان پہنچائے اور کیا ہم الٹے پھر جائیں اس کے بعد کہ ہم کو اللہ تعالیٰ نے ہدایت کردی ہے، جیسے کوئی شخص ہو کہ اس کو شیطانوں نے کہیں جنگل میں بےراه کردیا ہو اور وه بھٹکتا پھرتا ہو، اس کے کچھ ساتھی بھی ہوں کہ وه اس کو ٹھیک راستہ کی طرف بلا رہے ہوں کہ ہمارے پاس آ ۔ آپ کہہ دیجئے کہ یقینی بات ہے کہ راه راست وه خاص اللہ ہی کی راه ہے اور ہم کو یہ حکم ہوا ہے کہ ہم پروردگار عالم کے پورے مطیع ہوجائیں۔

Katakanlah (Muhammad), "Apakah kita akan memohon kepada sesuatu selain Allah, yang tidak dapat memberi manfaat dan tidak (pula) mendatangkan mudarat kepada kita, dan (apakah) kita akan dikembalikan ke belakang, setelah Allah memberi petunjuk kepada kita, seperti orang yang telah disesatkan oleh setan di bumi, dalam keadaan kebingungan." Kawan-kawannya mengajaknya ke jalan yang lurus (dengan mengatakan), "Ikutilah kami." Katakanlah, "Sesungguhnya petunjuk Allah itulah petunjuk (yang sebenarnya); dan kita diperintahkan agar berserah diri kepada Tuhan seluruh alam,

বলুন, ‘আল্লাহ্ ছাড়া আমারা কি এমন কিছুকে ডাকব, যা আমাদের কোনো উপকার কিংবা অপকার করতেও পারে না ? আর আল্লাহ্ আমাদেরকে হিদায়াত দেয়ার পর আমাদেরকে কি আগের অবস্থায় ফিরানো হবে সে ব্যাক্তির মত, যাকে শয়তান যমীনে এমন শক্তভাবে পেয়ে বসেছে যে সে দিশেহারা ? তার রয়েছে কিছু (ঈমানদার) সহচর, তারা তাকে হিদায়াতের প্রতি আহবান করে বলে, ‘আমাদের কাছে আস?’ বলুন, ‘আল্লাহ হিদায়াতই সঠিক হিদায়াত এবং আমারা আদিষ্ট হয়েছি সৃষ্টিকুলের রব-এর কাছে আত্নসমর্পণ করতে।’
