Surah An-Nisa Ayah 46 (4:46)

Among those who are Jews, there are some who displace words from (their) right places and say: "We hear your word (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم and disobey," and "Hear and let you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) hear nothing." And Râ‘ina with a twist of their tongues and as a mockery of the religion (Islâm). And if only they had said: "We hear and obey", and "Do make us understand," it would have been better for them, and more proper; but Allâh has cursed them for their disbelief, so they believe not except a few.

Some of those who are Jews change words from their context and say: "We hear and disobey; hear thou as one who heareth not" and "Listen to us!" distorting with their tongues and slandering religion. If they had said: "We hear and we obey: hear thou, and look at us" it had been better for them, and more upright. But Allah hath cursed them for their disbelief, so they believe not, save a few

If only they had said: "What hear and we obey"; and "Do hear"; and "Do look at us"; it would have been better for them, and more proper; but Allah hath cursed them for their Unbelief; and but few of them will believe

بعض یہود کلمات کو ان کی ٹھیک جگہ سے ہیر پھیر کر دیتے ہیں اور کہتے ہیں کہ ہم نے سنا اور نافرمانی کی اور سن اس کے بغیر کہ تو سنا جائے اور ہماری رعایت کر! (لیکن اس کے کہنے میں) اپنی زبان کو پیچ دیتے ہیں اور دین میں طعنہ دیتے ہیں اور اگر یہ لوگ کہتے کہ ہم نے سنا اور ہم نے فرمانبرداری کی اور آپ سنئےاور ہمیں دیکھیئے تو یہ ان کے لئے بہت بہتر اور نہایت ہی مناسب تھا، لیکن اللہ تعالیٰ نے ان کے کفر کی وجہ سے انہیں لعنت کی ہے۔ پس یہ بہت ہی کم ایمان ﻻتے ہیں،

(Yaitu) di antara orang Yahudi, yang mengubah perkataan dari tempat-tempatnya. Dan mereka berkata, "Kami mendengar, tetapi kami tidak mau menurutinya." Dan (mereka mengatakan pula), "Dengarlah," sedang (engkau Muhammad sebenarnya) tidak mendengar apa pun." Dan (mereka mengatakan), "Rā'inā" dengan memutarbalikkan lidahnya dan mencela agama. Sekiranya mereka mengatakan, "Kami mendengar dan patuh, dan dengarlah, dan perhatikanlah kami," tentulah itu lebih baik bagi mereka dan lebih tepat, tetapi Allah melaknat mereka, karena kekafiran mereka. Mereka tidak beriman kecuali sedikit sekali.

ইয়াহুদীদের মধ্যে কিছু লোক কথাগুলো স্থানচ্যুত করে বিকৃত করে এবং বলে, ‘শুনলাম ও অমান্য করলাম’ এবং শোনে না শোনার মত; আর নিজেদের জিহবা কুঞ্চিত করে এবং দীনের প্রতি তাচ্ছিল্য করে বলে, ‘রাইনা’। কিন্তু তারা যদি বলত, ‘শুনলাম ও মান্য করলাম এবং শুনুন ও আমাদের প্রতি লক্ষ্য করুন’, তবে তা তাদের জন্য ভালো ও সঙ্গত হত। কিন্তু তাদের কুফরীর জন্য আল্লাহ তাদেরকে লা’নত করেছেন। ফলে তাদের অল্প সংখ্যকই ঈমান আনে।
