وَمَا كَانَ لِمُؤْمِنٍ أَن يَقْتُلَ مُؤْمِنًا إِلَّا خَطَـًٔا وَمَن قَتَلَ مُؤْمِنًا خَطَـًٔا فَتَحْرِيرُ رَقَبَةٍ مُّؤْمِنَةٍ وَدِيَةٌ مُّسَلَّمَةٌ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِۦٓ إِلَّآ أَن يَصَّدَّقُوا۟ فَإِن كَانَ مِن قَوْمٍ عَدُوٍّ لَّكُمْ وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ فَتَحْرِيرُ رَقَبَةٍ مُّؤْمِنَةٍ وَإِن كَانَ مِن قَوْمٍۭ بَيْنَكُمْ وَبَيْنَهُم مِّيثَٰقٌ فَدِيَةٌ مُّسَلَّمَةٌ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِۦ وَتَحْرِيرُ رَقَبَةٍ مُّؤْمِنَةٍ فَمَن لَّمْ يَجِدْ فَصِيَامُ شَهْرَيْنِ مُتَتَابِعَيْنِ تَوْبَةً مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ عَلِيمًا حَكِيمًا ٩٢
Wamaa kaana limu'minin ay yaqtula mu'minan illaa khata'aa, waman qatala mu'minan khata'an fatahreeru raqabatim mu'minatiw wadiyatum musallamatun ilaa ahlihee illaa ay yassaddaqoo, fa'in kaana min qawmin `aduwwil lakum wahuwa mu'minun fatahreeru raqabatim mu'minah, wa'in kaana min qawmim baynakum wabaynahum meethaaqun fadiyatum musallamatun ilaa ahlihee watahreeru raqabatim mu'minah, famal lam yajid fasiyaamu shahrayni mutataabi`ayn, tawbatam minallaah, wakaanallaahu `aleeman hakeemaa
And never is it for a believer to kill a believer except by mistake. And whoever kills a believer by mistake - then the freeing of a believing slave and a compensation payment [diyah] presented to his [i.e., the deceased's] family [is required], unless they give [up their right as] charity. But if he [i.e., the deceased] was from a people at war with you and he was a believer - then [only] the freeing of a believing slave; and if he was from a people with whom you have a treaty - then a compensation payment presented to his family and the freeing of a believing slave. And whoever does not find [one or cannot afford to buy one] - then [instead], a fast for two months consecutively, [seeking] acceptance of repentance from Allāh. And Allāh is ever Knowing and Wise.

It is not for a believer to kill a believer except (that it be) by mistake; and whosoever kills a believer by mistake, (it is ordained that) he must set free a believing slave and a compensation (blood-money, i.e. Diya) be given to the deceased’s family unless they remit it. If the deceased belonged to a people at war with you and he was a believer, the freeing of a believing slave (is prescribed); and if he belonged to a people with whom you have a treaty of mutual alliance, compensation (blood-money - Diya) must be paid to his family, and a believing slave must be freed. And whoso finds this (the penance of freeing a slave) beyond his means, he must fast for two consecutive months in order to seek repentance from Allâh. And Allâh is Ever All-Knowing, All-Wise.

It is not for a believer to kill a believer unless (it be) by mistake. He who hath killed a believer by mistake must set free a believing slave, and pay the blood-money to the family of the slain, unless they remit it as a charity. If he (the victim) be of a people hostile unto you, and he is a believer, then (the penance is) to set free a believing slave. And if he cometh of a folk between whom and you there is a covenant, then the blood-money must be paid unto his folk and (also) a believing slave must be set free. Never should a believer kill a believer; but (If it so happens) by mistake, (Compensation is due): If one (so) kills a believer, it is ordained that he should free a believing slave, and pay compensation to the deceased's family, unless they remit it freely. If the deceased belonged to a people at war with you, and he was a believer, the freeing of a believing slave (Is enough). If he belonged to a people with whom ye have treaty of Mutual alliance, compensation should be paid to his family, and a believing slave be freed. For those who find this beyond their means, (is prescribed) a fast for two months running: by way of repentance to Allah: for Allah hath all knowledge and all wisdom

کسی مومن کو دوسرے مومن کا قتل کر دینا زیبا نہیں مگر غلطی سے ہو جائے (تو اور بات ہے)، جو شخص کسی مسلمان کو بلا قصد مار ڈالے، اس پر ایک مسلمان غلام کی گردن آزاد کرنا اور مقتول کے عزیزوں کو خون بہا پہنچانا ہے۔ ہاں یہ اور بات ہے کہ وه لوگ بطور صدقہ معاف کر دیں اور اگر مقتول تمہاری دشمن قوم کا ہو اور ہو وه مسلمان، تو صرف ایک مومن غلام کی گردن آزاد کرنی ﻻزمی ہے۔ اور اگر مقتول اس قوم سے ہو کہ تم میں اور ان میں عہد و پیماں ہے تو خون بہا ﻻزم ہے، جو اس کے کنبے والوں کو پہنچایا جائے اور ایک مسلمان غلام کا آزاد کرنا بھی (ضروری ہے)، پس جو نہ پائے اس کے ذمے دو مہینے کے لگاتار روزے ہیں، اللہ تعالیٰ سے بخشوانے کے لئےاور اللہ تعالیٰ بخوبی جاننے واﻻ اور حکمت واﻻ ہے۔

Dan tidak patut bagi seorang yang beriman membunuh seorang yang beriman (yang lain), kecuali karena kesalahan (tidak sengaja). Barang siapa membunuh seorang yang beriman karena kesalahan (hendaklah) dia memerdekakan seorang hamba sahaya yang beriman serta (membayar) tebusan yang diserahkan kepada keluarganya (si terbunuh itu), kecuali jika mereka (keluarga terbunuh) membebaskan pembayaran. Jika dia (si terbunuh) dari kaum yang memusuhimu, padahal dia orang beriman, maka (hendaklah si pembunuh) memerdekakan hamba sahaya yang beriman. Dan jika dia (si terbunuh) dari kaum (kafir) yang ada perjanjian (damai) antara mereka dengan kamu, maka (hendaklah si pembunuh) membayar tebusan yang diserahkan kepada keluarganya (si terbunuh) serta memerdekakan hamba sahaya yang beriman. Barang siapa tidak mendapatkan (hamba sahaya), maka hendaklah dia (si pembunuh) berpuasa dua bulan berturut-turut sebagai tobat kepada Allah. Dan Allah Maha Mengetahui, Mahabijaksana.

কোন মুমিনকে হত্যা করা যেন মুমিনের কাজ নয়, তবে ভুলবশতঃ করলে সেটা স্বতন্ত্র; এবং কেউ কোনো মুমিনকে ভুলবশতঃ হত্যা করলে এক মুমিন দাস মুক্ত করা এবং তার পরিজনবর্গকে রক্তপণ আদায় করা কর্তব্য, যদি না তারা ক্ষমা করে। যদি সে তোমাদের শত্রু পক্ষের লোক হয় এবং মুমিন হয় তবে এক মুমিন দাস মুক্ত করা কর্তব্য। আর যদি সে এমন সম্প্রদায়ভুক্ত হয় যাদের সাথে তোমরা অংগীকারাবদ্ধ তবে তার পরিজনবর্গকে রক্তপণ আদায় এবং মুমিন দাস মুক্ত করা কর্তব্য। আর যে সঙ্গতিহীন সে একাদিক্রমে দু মাস সিয়াম পালন করবে। তাওবাহ্র জন্য এগুলো আল্লাহর ব্যবস্থা এবং আল্লাহ সর্বজ্ঞ, প্রজ্ঞাময়।
