Surah Ad-Duha

وَٱلضُّحَىٰ ۝١

Wad-duhaa

By the morning brightness

وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا سَجَىٰ ۝٢

Wal-layli idhaa sajaa

And [by] the night when it covers with darkness,

مَا وَدَّعَكَ رَبُّكَ وَمَا قَلَىٰ ۝٣

Maa wadda`aka rabbuka wamaa qalaa

Your Lord has not taken leave of you, [O Muḥammad], nor has He detested [you].

وَلَلْـَٔاخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ لَّكَ مِنَ ٱلْأُولَىٰ ۝٤

Walal'aakhiratu khayrul laka minal-oolaa

And the Hereafter is better for you than the first [life].

وَلَسَوْفَ يُعْطِيكَ رَبُّكَ فَتَرْضَىٰٓ ۝٥

Walasawfa yu`teeka rabbuka fatardaa

And your Lord is going to give you, and you will be satisfied.

أَلَمْ يَجِدْكَ يَتِيمًا فَـَٔاوَىٰ ۝٦

Alam yajidka yateeman fa'aawaa

Did He not find you an orphan and give [you] refuge?

وَوَجَدَكَ ضَآلًّا فَهَدَىٰ ۝٧

Wawajadaka daal-lan fahadaa

And He found you lost and guided [you],

وَوَجَدَكَ عَآئِلًا فَأَغْنَىٰ ۝٨

Wawajadaka `aa'ilan fa'aghnaa

And He found you poor and made [you] self-sufficient.

فَأَمَّا ٱلْيَتِيمَ فَلَا تَقْهَرْ ۝٩

Fa'ammal-yateema falaa taqhar

So as for the orphan, do not oppress [him].

وَأَمَّا ٱلسَّآئِلَ فَلَا تَنْهَرْ ۝١٠

Wa'ammas-saa'ila falaa tanhar

And as for the petitioner, do not repel [him].

وَأَمَّا بِنِعْمَةِ رَبِّكَ فَحَدِّثْ ۝١١

Wa'ammaa bini`mati rabbika fahaddith

But as for the favor of your Lord, report [it].
